Love’s Pure Light: A Moment of Christmas Worship
Love’s Pure Light
Silent night, holy night!
Son of God, love’s pure light.
Has something caused you to miss the love you normally receive at Christmas? Is it the result of a divorce? Or the death of a loved one? Or perhaps the result of a suffocating load of trials — so much so that you can’t see or feel your way through to anything positive, let alone to love.
As the lyrics say, Jesus is “love’s pure light.”
Jesus “is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being” (Hebrews 1:3). This means that Jesus is a mirror image of the Father. And the Father, as we know, “is love” (1 John 4:8).
If God is love, and Jesus reflects that to us, then when we glimpse our Savior in worship, we will encounter God’s love! There will be no shortage of love… or peace… or joy… or contentment!
So let’s take a brief moment to bow our hearts and lift our hands in worship to Christ our King!
